Homelessness, mental illness, substance use, learning disabilities – these are things that can happen to anyone – at any time in their lives.

At ICL, our committed staff provide a range of services to New Yorkers of all backgrounds with behavioral, emotional and physical challenges on their path to recovery and greater health and well-being.

In programs throughout the five boroughs – a range of housing, treatment, family and child and developmental disabilities services – every person is treated as a unique individual – not by their diagnosis or symptoms. They are supported to take charge of their lives, overcome serious challenges, to secure employment, permanent housing, and – where possible – reunite with families.

Our person-centered, trauma-informed approach to services leads to extraordinary outcomes, consistently reducing the need for hospitalizations and emergency room visits for mental health reasons and most important of all – we’re seeing people lead the best life possible, the life they dream of.

We begin the work wherever a person is in their lives, whatever neighborhood they have come from, or the problems they have endured.
