Sharon Sorrentino

VP for Child, Family and Young Adult Services

Throughout her 25-year career, Sharon Sorrentino has distinguished herself as an innovative leader in the behavioral health field who is dedicated to helping children and families overcome mental health challenges through trauma-responsive treatment.

Sharon currently serves as the Vice President for Child, Family, and Young Adult Services at the Institute for Community Living, where she has overseen and developed housing and community support programs for youth, families, and adults struggling with serious trauma histories, mental illness, health conditions, and substance use issues. These programs assist 350 clients and provide support services to the families of choice and friends/natural supports of the individuals served.

Additionally, Sharon has operationalized an evidence-based employment program for young adults diagnosed with mental illness, started a yearly community outreach event in Clinton Hill, specifically for families, that includes health screenings and other activities for youth, and has worked to assist with reunifying families separated by foster care and preventing future child protective services involvement.

Recently, Sharon assisted the agency with securing a 3-year certification from the NYS Office of Mental health and CARF for all of the housing programs under her supervision.
