The works of ICL artists are now on view at the Brooklyn Museum in a special exhibition in the Museum’s Education Gallery. The show, entitled Seen and Heard, explores art and identify and how artists can seek to reclaim their identify on their own terms, not through the lens of diagnosis or disability. This show is the culmination of a year-long program where ICL artists are given private tours of special exhibitions; these visits inspire the theme for the artists’ exhibition; this collaboration between ICL and the Museum is now in its 15th year.
On November 7th, ICL hosted a standing-room-only opening reception where guests had a chance to view the exhibit and speak to the artists.
Media coverage has included stories on NY1, Fox 5 News and in the Brooklyn Eagle.
The show will be on view at the Brooklyn Museum through December 15th.
