David Woodlock, President and CEO of the Institute for Community Living (ICL) was interviewed in September on WWRL (Radio 1600 AM) in recognition of National Recovery Month.

During the month of September, ICL and other organizations stood tall in recognition of National Recovery Month. ICL’s very own, David Woodlock, discussed some of the effective treatment methods that ICL uses to help those with mental illness and substance abuse recover to live mentally, physically and emotionally healthy lives. David described ICL’s pioneering efforts to integrate best-practices and evidence-based treatments into its programs, such as motivational interviewing and wellness self-management, as well as some of the heartwarming success stories of the people ICL serves.

This was the premier broadcast of a new weekly hour-long radio series, Human Services News and Views, co-presented by the Human Services Council of New York (HSC) and New York Nonprofit Press. The series will continue to explore a wide range of issues that impact human services programs in New York and ICL was honored to have David chosen as its first guest.

The interview aired on WWRL AM 1600 and is available on ICL’s website as well as HSC’s website at www.humanservicescouncil.org, on the New York Nonprofit Press website at www.nynp.biz, and on Facebook and Twitter: @HSC_NY and @NYNP_News.
