Op-ed: Medical respite saves hospitals money and improves care

New York hospitals are under enormous strain and looming Medicaid cuts threaten to widen budget gaps, particularly for public hospitals. At the same time, we continue to struggle with providing people health care that helps them get better and stay better. We must get creative with solutions and we should look to the medical respite model: it’s a unique way to do more by spending less.
