ICL helps New Yorkers with behavioral health challenges live healthy and fulfilling lives by providing comprehensive housing, health care, and recovery services.
To be a national model of whole health care for people with behavioral health challenges.
A set of core values guides our culture, shapes our goals, and inspires us to always strive for excellence when working with the people we serve.
We believe all people should have the opportunity to live healthy and fulfilling lives. We take a trauma-informed approach, meeting the people we serve wherever they are, working together to support them in achieving their goals.
Twice each year, ICL conducts Healthy Living and Satisfaction Surveys where clients provide important information to guide our work.
Year after year, the results show that what we are doing is making a difference.
In 2020, 96% of our behavioral health clients believed they had the power to make changes to improve their physical and mental health. The vast majority said they were able to deal more effectively with daily problems and were more in control of their lives.
These outcomes encourage us to continue on the track of whole health care to achieve greater wellness.
In 2017, SAMHSA (federal office for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration) selected ICL as one of only three organizations from around the country for its Excellence in Wellness Award for our impact on the health of people living with mental illness and substance abuse.
