Event Supports the Nonprofit’s Health, Housing, and Recovery Services for People Living with Mental and Behavioral Health Challenges
(New York, N.Y.)—The Institute for Community Living (ICL), a premier provider of whole health care for children, adults, and families living with serious mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities, held its annual Spring Gala on May 17 at 583 Park Avenue.
The organization raised mission-critical funds for its comprehensive housing, health, and recovery services. The festive evening featured a cocktail reception, dinner, auction, and a moving program emceed by Joelle Garguilo, WNBC reporter and a passionate advocate.
“New Yorkers with the most significant mental and behavioral health challenges are improving their well-being thanks to whole health care from ICL,” said Jody Rudin, President and CEO of ICL. “We are grateful to our donors, partners, and staff for their commitment to our life-changing services in shelters, supportive housing, and community-based programs.”
The event was attended by more than 320 guests, including Dr. Ann Marie Sullivan, Commissioner of the New York State (NYS) Office of Mental Health (OMH), who accepted the Visionary Leader Award on behalf of Governor Kathy Hochul. NYS OMH Senior Deputy Commissioner Robert Meyers was also honored for his leadership in expanding mental health resources in New York.
Grubhub was recognized as ICL’s 2022 Breakout Partner of the Year for generously donating nutritious meals to residents of ICL’s Borden Avenue Veterans Residence. Twenty-five ICL staff members were acknowledged as recipients of the 2022 Employee Excellence Award for their tireless efforts to help New Yorkers get better.
The gala’s co-chairs were Adrienne Lerro and Dave Reid. Many organizations and individuals generously sponsored the evening.
